Team DSM coach Hans Timmermans: “With the changes in parcours at the Tour of California, the stages could be quite unpredictable. Stage two and the finish on Mount Baldy should see the best climber win but the other two days depends on the racing style within the peloton. We arrive with a strong team and bring a mix of riders who can go for a good result on all three stages. We will look for a good GC result with Juliette, while Coryn will be the rider the team will set up for the sprints. Leah will get more of a free role as she can sprint for a good result but also hang on for a strong finish on Mount Baldy. That’s dependent on the race situation and we’ll decide that through good communication and teamwork throughout the stages.”
