Søren Kragh Andersen time trials to fifth on stage 2 of Tour of Denmark

PostNord Danmark Rundt - Tour of Denmark

Søren Kragh Andersen has time trialled to fifth place on the second stage of the Tour of Denmark, finishing the flat, fast 12.2 kilometre course just 15 seconds down on the stage winner, while teammate Casper Pedersen finished close behind in 11th at 29 seconds.

With the result, Kragh Andersen moves up to fifth overall while Pedersen sits in 10th with three stages remaining.

Tomorrow’s third stage takes in a lengthy 239.3 kilometre predominantly flat stage.

Post stage, Søren Kragh Andersen commented on the stage: “Today it was a nice time trial here on home soil. I couldn’t go faster today so thats how it is and I’m happy about my performance. From now on we have to take the race day-by-day.”

Team DSM coach Roy Curvers also said: “I think we can be happy with today, we know we have a guy in Søren who would be in the game for the win on a parcours like this, but in a TT it is about doing everything right and pushing as hard as you can and then in the end hoping that is good enough for the win.

“I think he did all good and he squeezed out every drop of energy out of his legs. So we are satisfied with the outcome. Alongside Søren, Casper also rode a good TT so we are still in good position for GC where a lot is still possible with three more exiting days to come.”
