Team DSM came away fromParis Tours empty handed after a difficult day at Paris Tours with Casper Pedersen first over the line for the team in 81st, seven minutes down on the front group.
The day’s early breakaway was formed of just three riders but their advantage wasn’t too last as the peloton already accelerated already with 100 kilometres still to race. The race hit the first gravel tracks with the peloton already having caught the break and from here the pressure started to tell on the race with a small peloton forming before a trio went clear with around 40 kilometres to race. Cees Bol set off in pursuit of the three but was unable to bridge across.
The three became two in the final 10 kilometres before two riders bridged across on the finishing straight to fight out the finish.
