A talented junior, Leo has had success both on the track and road before joining Development Team DSM. At the European Championships in 2019 he won the team pursuit with the Great Britain national team and took a strong third place in the individual pursuit. While on the road Leo took two impressive victories in 1.1 UCI level junior races at Omloop van Borsele and Trofee van Vlaanderen.
Not from a cycling family and having dabbled in other sports beforehand (football and martial arts), Leo took up cycling the year after his older brother, Ethan, began the sport at their local velodrome.
Well humoured and sociable, Leo enjoys going out for coffee rides with his friends or spending his downtime watching Netflix.
Despite proclaiming that he enjoys winning, Leo isn’t just solely motivated by the results sheet and instead also gains motivation from seeing improvements in his files.
After making the transition out of juniors, the young British rider is looking forward to his second year with the team and wants to learn as much as possible from both his teammates and coaches; helping the older riders towards some wins and then in the future aiming for results himself.
