Luke Roberts has been a part of cycling for almost 30 years, first as a rider himself representing Australia, before his active career moved into coaching. Luke joined Team DSM at the end of 2015 and is responsible for managing all of the processes for and at races, mostly working the men’s WorldTour team focusing on stage races.
Growing up in a cycling family, both of Luke’s parents were involved in the sport and it has always been a big part of his life. An Australian, it is without doubt that the Tour Down Under is his favourite race.
Whilst a professional himself, Luke’s career highlight was a gold medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. Since stepping into a coaching role, Team DSM’s 2017 Giro d’Italia win stands out amongst many other special moments, but Luke still believes there are ways to improve.
A cool and calm guy, you can find Luke out on the bike himself or spending time with his family, who he describes as his biggest interest away from the sport.
