Sebastian

Sebastian was born in Munich where he lived for 22 years. His passions lie in sports in general and before joining the cycling industry, he was active in track and field. He studied in Munich and Potsdam Sport Science.

Once a cyclist himself, Sebastian joined Team DSM at the beginning of 2017 after spending time coaching a German continental team.

“With our riders, we share the same passion and have from quality to quantity, the exact same goals. I share the same view as the team that it’s crucial to always hold focus on the long-term vision – that’s what makes this team so unique.”

After his first season travelling around the world with Team DSM, Sebastian’s favourite race is the Giro di Lombardia; “It is in my most favourite regions of the planet and the history of the race in amazing.” Asked about his highlight moment, Sebastian has enjoyed it all. “So far there hasn’t been one special race or moment.

“It’s more being part of a group of people who share the same passion and being part of great moments that we have created together.”

Away from his work with the team, you can find Sebastian spending time with his family and dog, reading books or participating in different sports. His passion for cycling began after watching the sport on the TV. Following this, he got on a bike and experienced the feeling of independence and freedom that the bike brings you. “Cycling is a way of life. Once you fall in love with it, you can’t stop loving it.”
